Kindercare Switch

Starting Monday, February 1st, all Kindercare groups will be switching from morning care to afternoon care and vice versa.  If your child will now be attending General Gordon Kindergarten in the morning, he/she must be dropped off at General Gordon school for morning care instead of Bayview.  If your child will be attending General Gordon Kindergarten in the afternoon, he/she must be dropped off at Bayview School for morning care instead of General Gordon.  If you need further clarification of where your child should be and/or where he/she should be dropped off/picked up, please email us at  Thank you!

Stranger Danger

How prepared is your child if he/she is approached by a stranger?

On January 19th @ 4:30pm, a Bayview student was confronted and then pursued by a man unknown to the neighbourhood.  The man is described as in his early sixties, gray hair, 5’7″-5’9″, overweight and wearing a white long sleeved shirt (neoprene-like) with light coloured pants.  The student was alone when approached/chased by the man and ran to the nearest adult for help.   A safety alert has been circulated around Bayview and General Gordon schools.

Please use this incident to refresh your child on stranger danger and what protocol he/she should execute if he/she should be in such a situation.  Also, please remember that our winter months allow darkness to fall much earlier so please make sure your child walks home with at least one other person as safety is in numbers.

If you have any questions or concerns about your child’s safety in his/her school or neighbourhood, please contact your child’s principal or talk to your neighbours.

Got olympic care?

The olympics will be upon us in 30 days!  We will be business as usual during this time.  Extended care will not be offered and families should look into alternative care if they are in need of child care past our 6:00pm closing time.

Please make sure you have pre-arranged alternate pick-ups if your schedule will be later than usual.   NOW is the time to get it together!

Get your dose of The Dailey Method

The Dailey Method is opening soon in Vancouver’s west side and ready to help you get into the best shape of your life!  The Dailey Method is a unique combination of ballet barre work, core conditioning, stretching and orthopedic exercises.

This challenging one-hour class effectively strengthens, tones and lengthens the entire body.  Light weights are utilized to define the upper body while mat and ballet barre work to target the thighs, seat and abdominals.  After each muscle group is worked, through repetition using a small range of motion, it is alternately stretched to lengthen the muscles.  Through this process, one’s body alignment and posture will be improved.

FRIDAY EXPRESS CLASS SERIES – child care available during this class!

Try a Friday 45-minute Express Class.  Experience The Dailey Method in a condensed format to meet your busy lifestyle.

*Class will be modified to accommodate the absence of the ballet barre.
